The Wireless Internet Camera Advances Home Security

None of us can always be home. We work, travel and occasionally have fun away from our homes and the valuables “safely” tucked away inside. Just how safe is your home and your property while you are away? Do you really know? Do you wish you could have a set of eyes watching while you are not there?

Well, now you can. With advances in video security camera technology you now have the ability to do just that. A home security camera will allow you to see everything that is going on and react to what you see. New wireless internet cameras have several features that can provide you with visibility throughout your home and property. They can also detect movement and send you an alert whenever your security is breached. When you receive an alert from your home security camera you can login into the system’s dashboard. This will allow you to control, view, record, hear and even speak to anyone near one of your wireless video cameras.

There are many advantages of these new wireless cameras but here are a few:

Motion Detection
Modern wireless internet cameras have a configurable “hotspot” that can be drawn on the screen. This will then tell the camera to watch that area for any changes in the image. The sensitivity can also be configured to avoid false alarms by car lights, rain and other non-threatening events. An alert can be sent via text or email notifying you of any movement. You can then login to the dashboard and immediately hear or see what is going on and respond. You can even speak over the internet and your voice will be heard by anyone in earshot of the camera.

Tilt, Pan and Zoom
Many new Wireless Internet Cameras offer a very useful feature: remote control Tilt (Up and down), Pan (left and right) and zoom (Closer and further away). Older model security cameras had stationary lenses that offered a fixed field of view. Even if they were equipped with wide angel lenses to get more area covered, the images were so small it was difficult to see everything clearly. With tilt, pan and zoom you can remotely adjust the video camera lens to the area that you want to view and zoom in to see it in greater detail.

Wireless means no wires
That may seem obvious but until you have to run unsightly wires all over your home you will never know how valuable this feature is. Wireless security cameras can be placed anywhere that is in range of your wireless router and most run off of batteries. This allows home owners to install these surveillance cameras themselves without having to worry about drilling holes in their walls or have messy wire hanging everywhere. It also allows the wireless internet camera to be placed in areas unreachable by wired devices.
