Bathroom Mirror Lighting

The classic image associated with mirrors that have lights inset is that of respected actresses applying their stage make-up before heading on stage to perform the classics. And whilst this may conjure up feelings of reverence and in many cases antiquity, it does also go to prove a valid point: they are rather useful.

Whilst most people’s home lighting will simply stretch to general lighting in their bathroom, having specific task lighting will help improve not only safety but also improve the ability to correctly do make-up and generally help people feel better about themselves.

People who have lights set above the mirror will almost always find shadows created over the face making the act of putting on make-up and even just washing as thoroughly as possible much more tricky. Illuminated bathroom mirrors on the other hand will make the process much easier as well as giving a much more appealing and level view of one’s face. Using halogen bulbs in the bathroom can also help immensely as this gives you the most natural-looking light meaning that skin tones and colours will appear much more accurately to you when you look into the mirror.

So if you want to make sure that the reflection you see – one of perfect make-up, a clean visage or for men that you have indeed got all that hair when you shaved – is the one that other people see, then making sure you have the right lighting in your bathroom is a must, and bathroom mirror lighting is one of the best places to start.
